이건 어디서 나온 차트일까?
제시 리버모어와 관련된 글을 보면 2개의 차트가 많이 보인다.
LIVERMORE'S SPECULATIVE CHART
기계번역을 돌려보니 "리버모어의 투기 차트"라고 번역된다.
그림에는 "THE ALL-IMPORTANT ACTION OF STOCK 'A'."와 "ACCUMULATION CYLINDER WITH WIDENING MOUTH", "TEST, BEFORE SELLING SHORT"라는 문구가 적혀있다.

그런데 이런 차트 그림을 직접 그렸다고 말하는 사람들이 있다는 것이 납득하기 어려워 어디서 나온 그림들인지 찾아보게 되었다.

누군가가 노트에 직접 필기한 내용처럼 보이지만, 각 페이지 하단에 페이지 번호가 있는 것을 보면 출판된 책의 일부분으로 보였다.

종이의 질감을 보면 같은 책인가 싶기도 하지만, 페이지 부분이 인쇄된 것이 아닌 손으로 쓰인 것과 LIVEMORE라는 단어의 필체가 달라 같은 책이라고 확신할 수는 없다.

100페이지도 되지 않는 분량으로 출간된 책이다. 책 설명을 보면 "HOW TO TRADE IN STOCKS"에 소개된 내용들을 정리한 책이라는 것 같다.
리처드 스미튼의 "Jesse Livermore: World's Greatest Stock Trader"와는 다르게 국내에 번역된 도서는 없는 듯.

How to Trade in Stocks의 2장 When Does a Stock Act Right?(주식은 언제 적절하게 움직는가?)를 보면 리버모어가 이야기하는 주식의 가격 흐름이 있다.
그것을 차트로 시각화하여 표현하면 다음과 같은데, 아마 이 차트를 그린 것이 아닌가 생각된다.
다만, 정확한 가격이 언급된 것은 65달러까지인데 상승 이후 하락하는 흐름까지 무엇을 근거로 그린 것인지는 잘 모르겠다.
또한 주가가 상승하는 흐름도 책에서 설명하는 것과는 미묘하게 다르다.
결론
2개의 차트는 제시 리버모어가 그린 것이 아닌 "C. M. Flumiani, Sam Sloan"가 자신의 책 "The Stock Market Trading Secrets of the Late Jesse Livermore"에 설명을 위해 그린 그림으로 보인다.
